Knitting groups

I've often considered joining a knitting group of some kind - London has quite a few, and I even plucked up the courage to go along to an 'I Knit London' meeting, but then couldn't find the knitters! The idea of joining an established group has been a bit scary, and I've not yet managed to get over that fear of the unknown, so I continue to knit on my own and use the internet to connect with other knitters.

Until now. New job is going great, and the atmosphere is such that I'm not afraid to knit (or crochet) during my breaks, or display my Stitch 'n Bitch page a day calendar on my desk. And I've been spotted! Turns out that there is a knitting group here at work (well, they meet at each others houses) and I've been invited to join them at their next meeting :-)

Now I'm dying to find out what they're all working on and see how it goes. Might help me to get on with the wedding shawl which I haven't even finished the swatch for yet. (I'm delaying with plenty of bulky knitting. Even after Kiri I'm still scared of laceweight...)
